Watercolour of the West elevation of Bath Abbey, which depicts angels climbing stone ladders, inspired by a dream of Bishop Oliver King.

Bath Abbey, officially the Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, is a historic parish church in Bath, Somerset, England. It was originally founded in 675 AD and rebuilt several times, with the current structure mainly dating from 1499 to 1611. The abbey is a prime example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture and features a Victorian Gothic interior restored by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s.

The abbey served as a Benedictine monastery until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century and was once a cathedral.
