L. Cornelissen & Son is located at 105 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3RY. Founded by Louis Cornelissen, a Belgian lithographer, it has been a cornerstone for artists, supplying pigments, paints, brushes, and gilding equipment- it really is one of a kind.
The shop is known for its extensive collection of pigments, including rare materials like dragon’s blood and lapis lazuli. It has served notable artists such as J.M.W. Turner, Walter Sickert, and Lucien Freud. The shop maintains its original Victorian fittings so is wonderful for just a visit.
